Blood Moon

Well here we go again. I’ve posted many times about gloom and doom apocalypsers and here is yet another one. The blood moon we will begin hearing about is on its way! It is a full, albeit eclipsed, moon which will appear in 2014 and again in 2015. Now the Bible does in fact talk about something like this. For example: The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and glorious day of the LORD arrives. (Acts 2:20) And we also read The full moon turned as red as blood. (Rev 6:12)  And also: “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.” (Joel 2:31)

Modern day prophets have cited several important events in the life of the nation of Israel which more or less loosely align themselves with these rare occurrences, but here we are, just like a Timex watch, this old Earth “takes a licking and keeps on ticking.” I now catch myself asking why these end-of-timers don’t discuss the various other “moons.” Some of them are equally as threatening as a blood moon.

For instance, there is the Wolf Moon, the Sugaring Moon, Snow Moon, Hunger Moon, and my favorite (and soon to be yours) the Moon of the Pairing Reindeer! Yes, you can see these and others at http://imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/ask_astro/answers/970314a.html .

There may be signs, but I don’t think for a minute we can properly interpret them. There may be hints, but we’re far too removed from the surrounding history to get them. There may be symbolism, but the references are just too ancient for most of us to correlate them.

I stand by my original contention: when in doubt, PRAY and trust the red letters: But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Mt 24:36)
